DNA Mixtures & Criminalistics

An intermediate course on evidence of criminalistics tests and DNA mixtures. This training is expected to cover preliminary screening versus confirmatory testing for blood, saliva, and other biological substances, as well as DNA tests and mixture interpretation by analysts, likelihood ratios, probabilistic genotyping mixture analysis (e.g., STRmix, TrueAllele), problematic expert testimony, and litigation tips and challenges, and will go in-depth on explaining likelihood ratios to judges and juries.
