2:00 – 3:00 pm – The Weight of Clients’ Experiences: Avoiding Vicarious Trauma as Mental Health Attorneys – In conjunction with Dr. Shawn Healy from Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (ZOOM)

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Define and differentiate between vicarious trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue, recognizing the unique challenges of their work with clients in the mental health system.
2. Identify the personal and professional signs of vicarious trauma in themselves and others, including emotional, cognitive, and physical symptoms.
3. Implement practical, immediate strategies for self-care and professional resilience, including boundary-setting techniques and accessing support resources like Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers.
