- Understand that violent behavior among individuals with serious mental illness is relatively uncommon
- Identify specific symptoms associated with violent behavior for some individuals with serious mental illness
- Understand that diagnoses alone cannot predict who may commit violence
- Develop an effective approach to cross examining witnesses as to biases against people with mental illness are largely responsible for violent acts
