Why Race Matters: Exploring the Legal Attack on Identity and Its Impact in Public Defense

Participants will have an opportunity to explore an in-depth analysis of the SCOTUS cases which impact identity issues.  More particularly the cases concerning Affirmative Action, Women’s Rights and the rights of those in the LGBTQ+ community concern the impact of identity on one’s individual liberties.  How these rights have evolved over time and where they stand today is of poignant consideration as we celebrate the 100-year Anniversary of Brown vs Bd of Education.
