  1. Review how clients can have “voluntary” versus conditional voluntary admissions to psychiatric hospitals.
  2. Explain how to assist your client in withdrawing a 3-day notice for discharge
  3. Identify how to assist your client when the holding facility will not accept their withdrawal of a 3-day notice for discharge.
  4. Describe how to assist your conditional voluntary status client when the holding facility wishes to transfer them.
  5. Explore how to assist your client when the holding facility refuses to accept their withdrawal of a 3-day notice for discharge for miscellaneous reasons (medication refusal, perceived lack of competency, guardianship)
