Your clients, like 1000s of others, can return to community living, or never go to a nursing home in the first place, because of the Marsters settlement.
You will learn from:
- Steven Schwartz, Senior Counsel, the Center for Public Representation (CPR) which filed suit against the Commonwealth, about the Marsters v. Healey settlement and resulting benefits to our clients regarding the initiative bringing people home
- Elaine Eliopoulos, MHLD private panel member and gerontologist. will explain her research and share her knowledge about community placement/services for older adults, alternatives to nursing home care and the Frail Elder Waiver
After this training, you will be better prepared to:
- Identify how the Marsters Settlement will provide new residential opportunities and support services to allow people to return to the community.
- Describe how ageism manifests in our cases.
- Advocate zealously for clients facing nursing home admission and help getting them home
