Introduction to Education Advocacy: Special Education Law 101
Participants will learn how effective education advocacy can
make a difference in courtroom outcomes. Participants will
receive training in the basics of Special Education Law at the
federal and state level including procedural rights, eligibility for
Special Education, evaluations, Individualized Education Plans
(IEPs), 504 plans, available services and placements. We will
also discuss the various education decision makers, including
the role of the GAL or special education surrogate parent.
