Understanding Individual Education Plans, Team Meetings and Conflict Resolution
This session will provide a deep dive into three important areas
that will help all juvenile attorneys advocate for their clients in
the courtroom and classroom. First, attendees will learn how to
navigate and understand IEPs and the implication that IEPs
have for their clients. Then, attorneys will learn about preparing
for and advocating effectively at a Special Ed Team meeting
including thorough school record review and summarization.
Finally, there will be an overview of what options there in
disputes over a client’s educational needs with the school.
