Title: Prisoner Law: What Practitioners and Judges Need to Know

Program Description:

This program will feature a panel consisting of practicing advocates and sitting judges who will address a range of issues that arise in correctional institutions. The topics include issues that frequently arise in the context of incarcerated individual litigation. Specific topics will include lawsuits over constitutional rights such as allegations of excessive force, failure to protect, conditions of confinement, inadequate medical care, and applicable law for the issuance of court orders. The presentation will also address administrative procedures that apply in the prison setting such as disciplinary proceedings and grievances and judicial review of those issues.
