Advocates in legal, aging, and disability services will likely engage with clients living with dementia. Applying effective, dementia-informed practices will enhance communication and advocacy. This training will apply the informed services model to understanding how dementia impacts a person’s ability to communicate, remember, and give informed consent. Participants will also learn how responses and behaviors are impacted by dementia and will hear about methods to support effective communication and understanding.
