The CPCS Mental Health Training Unit is hosting a collaborative and interactive conversation with Cindy Marty Hadge and Jennifer Tirado from Wildflower Alliance to help you understand the medical model of disability and client-centered alternatives so you can better represent your clients with mental health issues. This program will enable you to:
- Recognize common perceptions of people with disabilities and examine your own perceptions and biases.
- Describe and evaluate the medical model of disability contrasted with the social model of disability, including the neurodiversity paradigm of psychosocial disabilities.
- Apply your understanding of various models of disability to the work of defending the autonomy and personal freedoms of our clients.
