Raised on Cape Cod, Sue attended Northeastern University, earning a B.S. degree as well as an M.B.A. After working in Boston for several years, Sue decided on a career in law, earning her J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, CA.

After law school, Sue moved north to Alaska where she worked both as a trial attorney and as the Attorney in Charge of the Ketchikan office. After 12 years in Alaska, it was time to return home. In 2006, Sue joined the Committee for Public Counsel Services as the Attorney in Charge of the Barnstable District Court office. In 2018 Sue moved into the position of Managing Director for the South region, overseeing Barnstable, Plymouth, Fall River, and New Bedford. Over the course of her career, Sue has handled misdemeanor, felony, and murder cases. She has also handled juvenile delinquency cases and family law cases.

Sue is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Alaska.
