Sue has been practicing since 1993. She began practicing for the Public Defender Agency back then in Alaska, first in Kenai and then in Ketchikan. During her time in Alaska, Sue handled cases in Juvenile Court, Family Court, District Court, and Superior Court as well as appeals. Her caseload ran the gamut from misdemeanors through murder cases.
A native Cape Codder, Sue returned home in 2005, and began working for CPCS in 2006 as the Attorney-in-Charge of the Barnstable County District Court office. She remained in that position until May of 2019 when she became the Managing Director of the Southeast Region for the Public Defender Division of CPCS. In that capacity she oversees the trial offices in New Bedford, Fall River, Brockton, and Hyannis.
