Lauren joined YAD as a staff attorney in September 2011, after graduating from Northeastern University School of Law in May. During law school, she completed internships at the EdLaw Project, the Federal Public Defender and the Boston District and Municipal Court Office of CPCS. She also participated in the Prisoners’ Rights Clinic as a student attorney and a teaching assistant. Prior to law school, Lauren worked as a Guardian ad Litem investigator at the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Thought and Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2006, after completing a year of national service in Boston through Americorps’ City Year. Lauren has volunteered as an educational surrogate parent for children in the custody of the Department of Children and Families since 2009.
