Katie began working as a Public Defender in 2009 after her graduation from Suffolk University Law School. She gained trial experience in both the Brockton District Court and the Salem Superior Court Office of CPCS prior to joining YAD in 2014. While attending Suffolk Law, Katie represented juveniles charged in delinquency proceedings in the Boston Juvenile Court through the Juvenile Justice Center. She also interned at the Massachusetts Appleseed Center for Law and Justice in Boston in 2007 and with a mentoring program for incarcerated young women at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago in 2005. Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006 from The Colorado College.
