Elizabeth Mooney is a Staff Attorney assigned to the Criminal Defense Training Unit at CPCS, where she assists in training CPCS staff attorneys and Bar Advocates. She started her career in private practice in Massachusetts before joining the staff of Legal Aid of Suffolk County, NY where she represented indigent clients in their misdemeanor and felony charges. She then moved to New Hampshire where she served as the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys for 7 years. Immediately prior to joining the Criminal Defense Training Unit, Betsy was the program attorney responsible for criminal law curriculum at Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. She is admitted to the Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire Bars as well as to the United States District Court of Massachusetts. Betsy is also a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College. In addition to her J.D., she holds a Masters in Education.
