STUART M. HUROWITZ
SUPERVISING ATTORNEY
Attorney Hurowitz began his legal career in 1992 at the New Hampshire Public Defender’s Office, after having graduated from Boston University School of Law. He spent the next seven and one-half years as a New Hampshire Public Defender, the last three and one-half as the managing attorney of the Nashua branch office. Leaving NHPD in December 1999, Attorney Hurowitz went to Montenegro (then still a part of Yugoslavia) to work on a wide range of legal reform projects as an American Bar Association’s Central and East European Law Initiative’s (ABA-CEELI) Criminal Law Liaison.
Over the years since his repatriation, he has completed teaching stints for the criminal practice clinic at Boston University School of Law, Boston College Law School, Suffolk University Law School (in the juvenile defender clinic), and Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH. Attorney Hurowitz has been a regular Adjunct Professor at Boston College Law School since 2002, having taught “Introduction to Lawyering and Professional Responsibility,” Evidence, and, currently, Professional Responsibility. He is also associated with BU School of Law as an Adjunct teaching Professional Responsibility in the criminal practice clinic.
Attorney Hurowitz’ career with CPCS include being a Staff Attorney with the Boston Trial Unit, the Attorney In Charge of the Quincy District Court Office, a Staff Attorney with the Worcester Superior Court Office, and his current role as a Supervising Attorney in the Worcester District Court Office.
