The Salem Public Defender’s Office represents indigent clients in both Superior and District Court criminal proceedings throughout southern Essex County. Our public defense team in the PDD Salem Trial Office consists of 9 attorneys, including the Attorney in Charge and Supervising Attorney, as well as a Social Service Advocate, an Investigator and Administrative Assistants. This collection of advocates work together to provide the best and zealous advocacy on behalf of every client. The lawyers of the Public Defender Division carry on a proud Massachusetts public defender tradition, born more than fifty years ago, to diligently deliver dedicated and excellent representation to our clients in the Essex County community.
