Program Description: Smartphones are one of the most common types of digital evidence in a case. Understanding what the standards are that should be followed will allow you to have a good expectation for the data that is being produced. Did they get all possible information with their image type? What should you be seeing in the data from the device? What about deleted information? This session will review all of these topics to give you a solid understanding of what should be happening with a smartphone acquisition.

Smartphone Apps Parsed and Unparsed

Apps are where most of the time is spent on a smart device. However, the storage of the data associated with these Apps can change based on a few factors. From what is on the device to what is now being stored in the cloud you can learn what you should be looking for when it comes to the analysis of App data from smart devices.
