Join us in May for an Interactive Training on the SJC’s Decision in Adoption of Luc

It is now over a year since the SJC’s decision in Adoption of Luc changed the legal landscape around the admission of DCF records.  Hearsay is in!  (Or is it?)  Opinion is out!  Come learn what the decision means for your practice.  Our evidence expert Andy Cohen, Director of the CAFL Appellate Panel and author of CPCS’s amicus brief in Luc, will review the decision and how it has changed the rules about admission of DCF records. Senior Trial Counsel Victoria Bleier and Nancy Hathaway will provide practice tips and lead a discussion about how local courts are applying the decision.  We will break into small groups to share our experiences and brainstorm strategies for protecting our clients’ rights and challenging unlawful practices.

We are offering the training on two separate dates to accommodate busy court schedules:

Register in advance for the May 5, 2021 session:

Register in advance for the May 25, 2021 session:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Please send any questions or concerns you have about the admission of DCF records to cafltraining@publiccounsel.net and put “Adoption of Luc” in the subject line so we can best prepare to respond to local practices.  Approved for 2 CAFL CLEs.
