SUMMARY:Motion for Special Findings and Special Immigrant Juvenile Visas
DESCRIPTION:Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) Visa is an immigration benefit provided to children who have been abused\, neglected\, or abandoned by at least one of their parents. SIJ provides legal status which is an important mechanism for children to achieve permanency.  Please join us for a training jointly sponsored by DCF and CPCS on the practical steps for obtaining SIJ for our child and young adult clients.  We will provide an overview of Special Immigrant Juvenile Visa for undocumented children\, our roles in the Child Welfare system\, and a detailed look into drafting the required Motion for Special Findings. Participants will receive checklists and model pleadings.  Approved for 2 CAFL CLEs.
